Software Engineering Manager, Distributed System Engineering

Meet the Team :

The Cisco Distributed System Engineering team build the largest networks in the world. Within these networks, we connect and manage millions of end-points to support our customers. Our Distributed Embedded Data Path Forwarding team are looking for a Software Engineering manager to join our diverse team to work on developing features for routers that accelerate our customers’ success!

Your Impact :

Grow and mentor software engineers and technical leaders
Track and deliver projects on time, oversee and collaborate for the success of team’s charter
Review all work produced by the team, Deliver continuous feedback and performance review of engineers
Being a role model of Cisco culture

Minimum Qualifications :

9+ years of experience in Software Engineering and 3+ years of experience in management

Hands-on experience building and deploying software on embedded systems / routers

Experience leading / managing a strong technical team to drive the features / products with a focus on quality

Good interpersonal skills and cross collaboration

Knowledge of C / C++, embedded Linux, OS, Routing protocols and the networking stack

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience of interacting and working with large team across geographies

Experience managing independent, strong, and diverse teams

Strong understanding of customer value
