AI Engineering Team Lead

About The Role

As a Team Lead – AI Search & Infrastructure , you will :

• Take ownership of complex technological problems , especially in the areas of search quality, ML model evaluation, and large-scale production deployment.
• Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, data scientists, and ML Ops specialists, fostering a strong engineering culture and high standards.
• Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for AI search and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with company priorities.
• Drive search benchmarking and evaluation —vector search, lexical search, embeddings, cross-encoders, and hybrid scoring models—while translating results into actionable product direction.
• Guide the team in building and operating a robust ML platform , including observability, cost monitoring, release pipelines, and disaster recovery.
• Oversee production readiness of ML models (PI and open-source), ensuring they remain reliable, scalable, and efficient.
• Partner with Product, Design, and R&D to ensure AI-driven features are developed, deployed, and scaled to millions of users.
• Balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring you remain deeply engaged with the systems your team owns.
• Act as a key member in group leadership forums, influencing technical investments and long-term AI strategy at monday.com.
