About The Role
As a Team Lead – AI Search & Infrastructure , you will :
- Take ownership of complex technological problems , especially in the areas of search quality, ML model evaluation, and large-scale production deployment.
- Lead and mentor a team of AI engineers, data scientists, and ML Ops specialists, fostering a strong engineering culture and high standards.
- Define and drive the long-term technical strategy for AI search and infrastructure, ensuring alignment with company priorities.
- Drive search benchmarking and evaluation —vector search, lexical search, embeddings, cross-encoders, and hybrid scoring models—while translating results into actionable product direction.
- Guide the team in building and operating a robust ML platform , including observability, cost monitoring, release pipelines, and disaster recovery.
- Oversee production readiness of ML models (PI and open-source), ensuring they remain reliable, scalable, and efficient.
- Partner with Product, Design, and R&D to ensure AI-driven features are developed, deployed, and scaled to millions of users.
- Balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities, ensuring you remain deeply engaged with the systems your team owns.
- Act as a key member in group leadership forums, influencing technical investments and long-term AI strategy at monday.com.
Your Experience & Skills
5+ years of experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or ML Ops , including deploying models into production at scale.2+ years of leadership experience , managing or mentoring technical teams and leading projects end-to-end.Search & information retrieval (vector search, lexical search, embeddings, cross-encoders).ML Ops practices (observability, CI / CD, on-call, pipelines, recovery strategies).Optimizing performance and costs (GPU / CPU utilization, parallelization).Proven ability to translate research into production systems , bridging data science and operations.Strong technical communication skills—able to align engineers, product managers, and leadership.A team player with empathy, ownership, and a passion for solving hard problems in a fast-paced environment.Bonus : Experience with fine-tuning models on proprietary data, or evaluating trade-offs between generalization vs. product-specific performance.Apply to this job
