OSS Area Responsible (m/f/d)

We are currently seeking an experienced

OSS Area Responsible (m/f/d)

Start date: asap | Duration: tbc | Location / Assignment location: offshore, Polish Baltic Sea | Contract type: Freelance / B2B

You will support the project offshore construction and commissioning activities on offshore substations in the Polish Baltic Sea on a freelance basis. The assignment will be offshore and is planned as a 14/14 rotation.

As part of your role, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:

• Maintain field-level oversight of planned and ongoing work, work parties, access restrictions, barriers and local SIMOPS within assigned OSS areas.
• Verify worksite readiness with work-party leads, participate in toolbox talks and coordinate Work Release activation through the approved project process.
• Coordinate work boundaries, sequencing and interfaces between contractors; identify hazards, intervene in unsafe work and escalate unresolved conflicts to the Platform Supervisor.
• Monitor ongoing activities, access controls and housekeeping; coordinate with authorised persons on isolation-related interfaces without assuming their electrical authority.
• Provide timely area-status updates and structured shift handovers, including suspended work, outstanding hazards, barriers and restrictions; support assigned emergency-response duties.
• When appointed as night-shift Deputy Platform Supervisor, coordinate the approved night plan across OSS work areas and the jack-up, manage interfaces and escalate scope changes or unresolved issues.

• Solid professional experience in offshore construction, hook-up, commissioning or operations, preferably on offshore substations, offshore wind assets or comparable multi-contractor facilities.
• Practical experience in offshore worksite supervision, control of work, Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, Work Releases and SIMOPS coordination.
• Sound knowledge of electrical safety procedures, including HV/LV isolation, LOTO, earthing, electrical work zones and associated safety documentation.
• Valid Polish SEP Group 1 qualifications, preferably both G1 E and G1 D, combined with practical experience as an Authorised Person, Senior Authorised Person (SAP) or equivalent.
• Good written and spoken English skills, with strong communication abilities, a safety-conscious mindset and confidence in coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

• Minimum required certificates:
  • GWO package (First Aid, Fire Awareness, Manual Handling, Sea Survival incl. Boat transfer, Working at Heights)
  • Offshore Medial (NOGEPA, AWMF, UGOK)
  • OPITO HUET
  • Valid Polish SEP Group 1 certification (G1 E and preferably G1 D).
