POSITION SUMMARY

The Application Engineering Supervisor leads a team supporting global Commercial Vehicle OEM programs, providing technical leadership in customer applications, turbocharger matching, product validation, complex problem solving, and global customer communication. The role drives execution, customer alignment, and engineering team development in a global environment. Serves as the primary technical escalation point and as the global engineering champion for assigned customer programs across all regions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead, develop, and support a team of Application Engineers responsible for global CV OEM programs.
• Serve as the primary technical escalation point and provide technical leadership for customer application challenges, including:
  • turbocharger matching,
  • thermodynamic system optimization,
  • product validation,
  • field investigations,
  • resolution of complex engineering issues through structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Build strong customer relationships and drive successful execution of product development activities, customer deliverables, and program milestones by coordinating global engineering activities and translating complex technical topics and risks into clear, aligned, and customer-focused actions and communication.
• Lead new acquisition efforts including technical strategies, project forecasting, spend and workload management.
• Coach and mentor team members while supporting talent development and succession planning.
• Drive accountability, safety, customer focus, continuous improvement, and effective day-to-day team organization.
• Travel to customer, supplier, test, manufacturing, and company locations as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Engineering degree with 8+ years of relevant experience in automotive, commercial vehicle, turbocharger, or propulsion system engineering.
• Strong technical expertise in commercial vehicle turbocharger applications, matching, thermodynamic system optimization, and product validation.
• Demonstrated experience in structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and resolution of complex technical challenges.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering activities and manage customer-facing technical discussions in a global environment.
• Fluent written and spoken English with proven ability to lead technical discussions, present complex engineering topics, and communicate effectively with global customers and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to operate effectively under time pressure and manage multiple priorities.

PREFERRED

• Previous supervisory, technical-lead, or project-lead experience.
• Experience supporting global Commercial Vehicle OEM customers and international engineering organizations.
• Experience with engine or air-system simulation, matching tools, data analysis, CAD, and engineering lifecycle systems.
