Category Manager - regional role

We’re hiring on behalf of a leading global company in the FMCG industry, known for innovation, quality, and a people-first culture. As the company continues to evolve and drive operational excellence across its European markets, we’re looking for a skilled and strategic Category Manager to join their Regional Procurement Team, based in Poznań.

This is a regional role with real impact – you will be responsible for managing and optimizing procurement strategies for indirect goods and services across multiple European entities and production sites.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Regional Category Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing sourcing strategies, delivering cost efficiencies, and driving harmonized procurement processes across regions. Your main tasks will include:
• Leading regional sourcing projects, identifying opportunities for bundling and synergies across European countries.
• Designing and implementing category strategies for indirect spend areas.
• Acting as a business partner to internal stakeholders across European affiliates, understanding their needs and providing procurement expertise.
• Running RFQs, tenders, and supplier negotiations at regional level.
• Driving process standardization and optimization, ensuring consistency and efficiency across procurement functions.
• Monitoring supplier performance and ensuring contract compliance.
• Supporting data analysis, market intelligence, and benchmarking to inform strategic decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

• To succeed in this role, you'll need a combination of procurement expertise, strategic mindset, and strong stakeholder management skills. We’re looking for someone who brings:
• A university degree (business, supply chain, economics, or related field).
• 5+ years of procurement experience, preferably in indirect categories and international environments.
• Fluent English and German or Spanish is required.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with a proactive and persuasive personality.
• Experience with SAP and WMD, as well as solid skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong analytical thinking, process-oriented approach, and project management skills.
• Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
• A collaborative mindset and international perspective.
