Senior Business Consultant role overview and responsibilities
Overview
As a Senior Business Consultant, you will be responsible for shaping and driving the change agenda across the Global Business and Function. The role involves supporting a diverse portfolio of consulting initiatives or taking a leading role in global priority programs, ensuring strategic alignment and measurable results.
Responsibilities
- Appeal to customer’s viewpoint in order to understand and deliver the most beneficial solutions
- Understand the end-to-end process of designing, developing and deploying target operating models
- Facilitate stakeholders through decisions, consultation, influence, and resolving conflict
- Identify and recommend innovative solutions that leverage emerging technologies and solutions
- Anticipate and mitigate issues quickly with an understanding of the critical path
- Contemplate contingencies and develop strategies to manage risks
- Articulate and translate complex information in a clear, meaningful and structured way to suit the audience
- Provide timely reports on consulting engagement status, risks and issues, evaluating performance based on management information
- Promote and recognize cross-cultural work and communication within the team
- Manage a small team of Business Consultants to mobilize and deliver consulting engagements
- Drive a performance-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and effective management of underperformers
- Work effectively with Program Managers during initiation and handover, if the program moves into definition
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience working in business consulting or related initiatives within financial services or other large, complex organizationsSolid experience in directing new proposition design, operating model design, developing a global point of view on the applications of new technologies, improving core economics, etc.Strong knowledge of business and financial modeling, with experience in executing commercial due diligenceUnderstanding of commercial strategy (including revenue growth, market entry, market sizing) and customer segmentationAbility to build and propose distribution and cost reduction strategyOperating model design, product and proposition designStrong understanding of the full project lifecycle and Agile / Scrum methodologies of project deliveryUnderstanding of key activities for change adoptionKnowledge of project management tools (Clarity, JIRA, MS Project)Strong understanding of HSBC’s business and the banking industry, including competitors, regulatory environment, and external factors influencing change and innovationExpertise in Business Transformation Frameworks and best practice methodologies, with domain knowledge spanning retail and commercial banking, risk, operations, compliance, and paymentsExtensive project management skills and experience in managing large and complex projectsSelf-driven approach with the ability to work under pressureAdvanced English proficiency (spoken and written)Fluent Polish requiredResiding in Poland requiredNice to have
