In this highly collaborative and technically challenging role, you will join Moderna’s global Infrastructure & Operations team as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, operating at the intersection of cloud architecture, automation, and hybrid infrastructure. You will be responsible for supporting, scaling, and securing Moderna’s cloud environments in AWS and Azure, as well as integrating these with on-premises systems. The role emphasizes Infrastructure-as-Code, automation, observability, and compliance, requiring deep hands-on expertise in multi-cloud environments. You’ll partner closely with peers globally to ensure best practices are applied across hybrid infrastructure, with a strong focus on operational excellence. This is a high-impact individual contributor role based in Warsaw.
Here’s What You’ll Do :
Your key responsibilities will be :
Operate, manage, and support cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure with strong emphasis on performance, availability, and security.
Administer and integrate on-premises environments with public cloud platforms to support hybrid infrastructure requirements.
Troubleshoot OS-level and networking issues across both Linux and Windows systems, ensuring uptime and reliability.
Execute patching and ongoing platform maintenance to ensure alignment with compliance and regulatory standards.
Work collaboratively across regions on global projects, driving unified operational approaches.
Your responsibilities will also include :
Develop and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and Packer, as well as ARM templates or Bicep for Azure.
Build automation scripts in Python, Bash, or PowerShell to streamline operational tasks across AWS and Azure.
Contribute to CI / CD pipeline integration for infrastructure delivery, enforcing IAC principles across environments.
Configure, manage, and optimize observability tools – including monitoring, logging, and alerting – across cloud platforms.
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet audit and governance requirements.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations to support team-wide knowledge growth and scalability.

Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications) :
3–6 years in cloud infrastructure or cloud operations roles.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch) and similar Azure services (e.g., VMs, Resource Groups, Azure Monitor, VNets).
Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure-native tools (ARM / Bicep).
Scripting experience in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
Solid understanding of Linux / Windows systems and cloud networking.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications) :
AWS and / or Azure certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, SysOps Admin).
Experience with CI / CD tools like GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, AWS CodePipeline, or Jenkins.
Familiarity with security frameworks (GxP, HIPAA, ISO).
Excellent troubleshooting and collaboration skills.
Experience supporting infrastructure in life sciences or regulated environments is a plus.
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
