Tasks

We are looking for a Senior Quantitative Energy Analyst to join us. Together with you we want to support the energy market of the future; we will :

Build forecasting models for natural gas and power portfolios
Analyse Energy portfolio risks and seek for risk mitigation techniques
Work cross-commodity, i.e. on power and natural gas supply & demand side projects.
Understand the renewable energy impact as well as the conventional energy value chaing and deduce relevant conclusions to support a stable and renewable energy market in Europe.
Use Excel, Python, PowerBI, Powerpoint and other tools to gather, prepare, analyse the energy market and present our results
Present and discuss your results
Mentor a junior team member we are currently seeking

Requirements

University background in a quantitative or economic field (Bachelor, Master, PhD)

In-depth understanding of the mechanisms of the European energy market and a strong interested of staying at the forefront of future developments of conventional and alternative energies (power-to-x, batteries, hydrogen, ...)

You feel comfortable handling stochastic processes, e.g. geometric brownian motion & ornstein-uhlenbeck processes

You have a hands-on attitude (yes, there will also be csv files), and

you are strong in preparing and presenting structured data analyses (powerpoint, python, numpy, plotly, ...)

Business fluency in English is a must; knowledge of / interest in learning another European language very welcome

Ability to work in a hybrid / remote setup [we love it, but not everybody is made for it] and ideally you have worked in such a setup before
