Fuel your passion. In this role, you will be responsible for :
- Mentor and train less experienced designers.
- Create work packs for delegation, review detail drawings, create test procedures and lead task with external business partners.
- Create layouts, specify functional components, evaluate stackups, create assembly procedures, support manufacturing, undertake basic calculations.
- Interpret customer engineering specifications to produce layout, detail and assembly designs and specifications.
- Develop conceptual design requirements and layouts for review following company design process plan (DPP).
- Develop general design specifications for interpretation by other engineers and designers.
- Retrieve and submit data in PLM (Teamcenter) system following company protocols.
- Create / review detail, fabrication and assembly level drawings to company standards and format.
- Create / review detail designs for manufacture and participate in and create material for design reviews including materials and environmental reviews using relevant software to prepare general drawings.
- Modify and create 3D models and drawings to manufacturing standards for manufacture using company protocols and parametric practices.
- Create / review Bill of Materials (BOM) in PLM system.
- Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to : tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, simple calculations for basic design verification purposes.
- Identify improvements in existing products, procedures and processes and develop cost effective solutions to satisfy specifications.
- Create / review factory acceptance (FAT) procedures, prototype test procedures, FDS, and user manuals.
- Ensure all design activities and documents are correctly archived in electronic document management system.
- Understand and apply design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling, and welding.
- Provide support to the team who works on tenders.
- Seek new innovative technical solutions to improve team processes, products and systems.
To be successful in this role you will :
Have background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with extensive design experience.Have significant relevant work experience in relevant engineering or technical discipline.Have appropriate standard of technical, safety and professional knowledge.Have knowledge about Oil & Gas businesses, especially subsea which would be seen as an asset.Be fully familiar with Risk Assessment and Reliability Verification procedures.Be highly knowledgeable of current relevant industry standards and codes for area of work.Have experience of current Design / Modelling / Financial / project Management / Analytical software. Teamcenter, Creo, AutoCAD, Ansys Workbench.Be conscientious, flexible, versatile and determined.Be capable of assertive and positive communication and performance.Be innovative, drive excellence and improvement.Be fully fluent in English language.
