The incumbent is responsible for managing IT asset and software portfolios in-line with the desired goals and targets of the IT leadership team. Reporting to the Director, IT Infrastructure, this role provides full lifecycle management for all software used at Ansell from acquisition through final disposition. The IT asset and software manager designs, develops, and implements the organization's asset management strategy. This includes managing vendor relationships, maintaining the associated licensing and contract details, tracks contract end and renewal dates, and assists with contract negotiations. Duties also include evaluating and recommending new asset acquisitions, working with IT leadership to agree on IT asset standards, selling existing assets, and providing detailed financial reports to IT and Finance teams.
In addition to maintaining the existing global IT asset and software catalog, the person in this role will work with IT leadership to develop processes and procedures to handle new software requests and assist with yearly budget planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
Manage Ansell's global software catalogue
Build and manage licensing models and optimize our IT software licenses
Evaluate licensing options, named versus processor licensing, on premise versus cloud, owned versus SAAS, and provide recommendations
Report on external spend with suppliers of technology labor, software and hardware services
Develop a process and procedure to handle new software requests
Plan and implement IT hardware asset life cycle strategy; advise Procurement and IT Operations in procurement strategies for IT hardware acquisition.
Develop and maintain company policies and processes.
Serve as IT hardware asset management subject matter expert.
Optimize usage and cost of IT hardware and software deployments.
10. Proactively follow up with IT and business owners on contract end dates, renewals, and extensions.
11. Manage acquisition, deployment, utilization, tracking, security, and final disposition of IT assets.
12. Manage vendor relationship and lead negotiations for contracts, renewals, and termination of services
13. Effectively plan and manage projects, apply strong oral and written communication skills
14. Assist IT leadership with budgetary planning to understand as-is and future IT spend
15. Develop, maintain and manage comprehensive work plans, work prioritization, and delivery on project commitments
16. Contribute strategic thinking to IT spend and present ideas / solutions to Senior Management
17. Effective collaboration with the business, infrastructure teams, and application teams
18. Analyze large volume of software entitlement and deployment data
19. Manage software assets as they relate to the ITAM lifecycle for assigned portfolio of products / services and geographies, working towards consistent global coverage and responsibility
20. Insure all polices are followed to keep security and change management.
