GL Manager – Shared Service Center (Warszawa)

Recruitment conducted on behalf of our client – a leading international Shared Service Center (SSC).

As a recruitment partner specialized in finance and SSC roles, we are currently looking for an experienced GL Manager to join our client’s structure and lead the General Ledger team supporting the Italian market, with possible expansion to other Southern European countries.

Requirements

6–8+ years of experience in finance / accounting , including several years in a managerial position , preferably within an SSC environment.

University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.

Strong knowledge of GL processes and accounting principles (GAAP / IFRS).

Fluency in English is required.

Italian language skills will be a strong asset.

Previous experience supporting Italy and / or Spain is an advantage.

Experience working with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong Excel skills.

Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and proven team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the General Ledger team within the Record to Report process.

Oversee day-to-day operations related to general ledger entries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal controls and external regulations.

Supervise month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including balance sheet and P&L analysis.

Collaborate closely with AP, AR, Tax, Treasury, and other finance-related teams to ensure integrated financial reporting.

Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary data, reconciliations, and documentation.

Develop and improve existing GL processes and procedures in line with company policies and GAAP.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and foster a positive, collaborative team environment.

Participate in process improvement initiatives and ad-hoc financial projects.
