VAT Expert Europe

Job Summary

Finance professional responsible to provide advice on financial and tax matters, and should have an in-depth knowledge of the regulations, laws and acts that govern this process for area of Europe. This role will help to improve and digitalize processes connected with VAT area and the same become a Centre of excellence supporting roles inside and outside GBS.

Essential Functions

• Support daily operations in terms of VAT compliance process for EMEA region
• Perform compliance quality VAT checks
• Lead VAT mapping processes and identify areas for improvement
• Maintenance of tax codes (OneSource), support for tax engine maintenance
• Provide internal support for VAT queries from other departments
• Actively participate in internal and external audits
• Stay up to date on any changes in VAT legislation and inform the business accordingly
• Participation in Indirect Tax related projects
• Support VAT determination for purchase invoices (VAT coding)
• Supporting VAT coding automation process
• Performing internal controls related to VAT process
• Lead VAT registrations across various jurisdictions – as needed
• Ensure the company / GBS Operation is compliant with VAT regulations
• Ensure Tax related knowledge management inside and outside GBS
• Lead indirect tax readiness for newly acquired businesses
