G / L Accountant

Basic Function

GL Accountant is a key member of General Accounting Team. Responsible for working directly with local teams, line management and other SSC departments. Ensure accurate US GAAP reporting. Responsible for month-end general ledger close and accounts reconciliations. The Accountant will assist in the preparation and posting of monthly journal entries and accruals, general ledger analysis and fixed assets and balance sheets reconciliations. GL Accountant will be directly reporting to GL Team Leader.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Preparation, review and posting of journal entries and accruals to the general ledger.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure proper accounting policies and principles are followed in accordance with GAAP.
• Provide support to GL accountants.
• Identify and implement process improvements to build efficiencies.
• Monitoring and clearing open items of GL accounts.
• Monthly reporting to local statistics and bank offices.
• Preparing Fixed Assets templates.
• Close cooperation within departments across LyondellBasell Group and with auditors.
• Other duties as required.
