Job descriptionProficiency in Snowflake scripting — stored procedures (PLSQL or Python), user-defined functions, CTEs, window functions. Experience with Snowpark. Knowledge of ETL / ELT and Snowflake architecture. Familiarity with various file formats (Parquet, JSON, YAML). Hands-on experience with DBT or similar ETL tools, creating models, using macros, Jinja scripting, hooks, automated tests, snapshots, DBT packages. Understanding Snowflake concepts like data sharing, replication, dynamic data masking, secure views, row access policies, tags, streams, tasks, external tables, time travel, clone, storage integration, stages, clustering, role-based access control. Familiarity with Git concepts : branches, cloning, pull requests, conflict resolution, code reviews. Knowledge of Apache Airflow for scheduling pipelines. Understanding basic data structures and data modeling principles. Knowledge of Azure DevOps pipelines, repositories, agents. Understanding of AWS services : S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda. Nice-to-have : Snowflake certifications. Experience with software engineering best practices : design patterns, code review, testing, documentation. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems. Understanding of SDLC methodologies like Agile or Scrum. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in multinational teams, including stakeholders, data analysts, and software engineers. Experience working in Agile environments : sprint planning, stand-ups, code reviews, retrospectives. Experience leading or mentoring less experienced team members, guiding on best practices, code reviews, and skills development. Understanding of the business domain and translating requirements into technical solutions. Experience working closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize, and deliver solutions. Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to evolving tools and practices in data engineering.
