The role

As a Senior Backend Engineer in the Foundations Alliance, you will define and implement scalable technical solutions for complex business problems, focusing on experimentation, data, and analytics. You will drive key initiatives, work closely with stakeholders, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a global solution that works seamlessly across all markets. Your work will ensure a clear architecture with well-defined boundaries, enabling team autonomy and efficient operations worldwide.

On the technical side, you will leverage modern practices like DevOps, Continuous Delivery, and data-driven approaches to deliver incremental business value. You’ll design and develop scalable solutions while maintaining high-quality standards, ensuring reliability across all systems, and providing support and insights through analytics. You’ll benefit from mentorship, workshops, and pair programming, while your curiosity and willingness to explore different areas will help drive innovation and continuous improvement.

What you’ll do

• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team of 6-10 members, utilizing diverse technologies and frameworks.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end process, including architecture, design, development, deployment, and operations of data pipelines, applying DevOps practices, pair programming, and other modern methodologies.
• Actively contribute as a solution-oriented member within autonomous, cross-functional agile teams, collaborating with product owners.
• Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of HelloFresh's core product and architecture, serving as an ambassador for software solutions and providing support and mentorship to colleagues.
• Work with modern technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark, Kubernetes, Istio, and more.
• Work in a data-intensive domain that is deeply integrated with all core company systems.
