A Senior Mechanical Development Engineer (MDE) is responsible for the design and release of components that are used in conjunction with each other within an assembly to meet the overall performance requirements of a product. The MDE works within the PowerDrive Systems organization in collaboration with Program Lead Engineers as well as CAE Engineers. The MDE must be capable of completing work requests from the Program Lead Engineer(s) to meet the defined program performance requirements and timing. The engineer must also request design and analysis work from the team members while working simultaneously with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Component Engineering and suppliers to achieve component release. In addition to component design and development, the MDE is responsible for generating the 2D and 3D CAD data of these designs. The MDE works under minimal supervision while developing designs, and stack-ups of individual parts or assemblies. He is the key MDE expert supporting for customer meetings.
