This is a fully remote opportunity for a skilled data professional eager to shape how data drives product decisions, business operations, and long-term strategy. In this leadership role, you’ll mentor a technical team, guide engineering excellence, and contribute to the architecture and governance of modern data platforms. Your work will directly influence product innovation, operational efficiency, and customer success across a fast-scaling environment. Accountabilities :
- Lead the Data Engineering team, supporting personal development, mentoring, and fostering soft people management.
- Act as Delivery Manager for data projects — define priorities and ensure on-time task execution.
- Establish and enforce best practices around testing, CI / CD, code review, and documentation.
- Architect and evolve a modern Lakehouse infrastructure, preferably Databricks-based.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines using Python, PySpark, and orchestration tools like Dagster.
- Ensure semantic consistency and robust modeling of datasets, using frameworks like Kimball or Medallion.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (analysts, PMs, stakeholders) to align data efforts with business goals.
- Support and advance data governance, including lineage, cataloguing, and quality monitoring.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar technical data role.At least 1 year of experience leading technical teams or managing data projects — or strong interest in growing into such a role.Advanced knowledge of Python, SQL, and orchestration tools such as Dagster or Airflow; PySpark is a plus.Proven experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks and Lakehouse architectures are highly valued).Proficiency in data modeling using Kimball or Medallion approaches.Familiarity with tools like DataHub, Terraform, Docker is a bonus.Strong communication skills (English B2+), a sense of ownership, and excellent self-organization.Benefits
