As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world.
Your responsibilities
Lead and manage complex, cross-functional programs from inception to completion. Drive alignment, coordinate dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of high-impact projects.Define project scope, goals, timelines, and key milestones. Manage resources effectively, anticipate and mitigate risks, and drive projects to successful completion.Identify opportunities to optimize development, quality and performance.Establish key indicators and metrics, collect and analyze data, and use insights to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.Build strong relationships with stakeholders across engineering teams, product management, and other functions. Communicate effectively, influence decisions, and manage expectations.Our requirements
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.5 years of program / project management experience.Experience with software release management practices, tools, and automation.Experience with one source code management system (Git, SVN, Perforce).Experience with open source software releases.Experience in Android and Chrome Engineering.Optional
Ability to be comfortable conversing on technical topics and products.Ability to identify technical issues and understand how to resolve them.Ability to communicate complex interaction concepts and risks clearly and persuasively in a highly engineer-driven environment.Excellent process improvement skill.Excellent communication, presentation, people management, and investigative skills.Benefits
