What's the role?

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Japan Data Ingestion team. In this role, you’ll drive the expansion and optimization of Japan’s map compilation and ingestion processes, helping to build the most comprehensive high-definition live map for autonomous driving.

Working in an Agile environment , you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ingest, analyze, and process location data on the HERE Platform. Your work will deliver digital maps in NDS formats that go directly into vehicles, powering next-generation navigation and self-driving applications.

What You’ll Do?

Develop software that is well-crafted & steadily adds business value, as part of a community of professionals
Engage with internal and external customers for requirements, change requests, and incidents to help define application specifications
Own one or more components of software architecture in the immediate environment
Be part of an agile team, share knowledge, do code reviews, pro-active communication
Drive and improve engineering best practices (. agile, coding, verification)
Define complex, cross-subsystem / product designs to be implemented by the team

Who are you?

Bachelor or master’s degree in Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent.

4+ years of backend application development experience - Java / Scala

Solid knowledge of programming practices, strive to write great code that is reusable, flexible, and reliable.

Self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented, and a strong team player with an agile mindset

A strong quality mindset is considered a must : unit testing, performance testing, writing testable code

Infrastructure experience : Maven / SBT, GIT / GERRIT, Apache Spark, AWS, Jenkins, Linux Environment

Very good communication skills in English both written and spoken
