Your responsibilities

Driving a seamless end-to-end process design and implementation in project accounting and revenue recognition processes
Implement best practices and ensure that project accounting and revenue recognition processes (e.g. accurate project setup, budget tracking and profit recognition in line with project terms and accounting standards etc.) are streamlined, efficient, and meet business requirements
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and company policies, addressing any areas of risk or non-compliance
Working together with our business and finance stakeholders to ensure the processes are adopted, and they are efficient and aligned with the required standards
Ensuring data quality, operational transparency and continuous improvement in our processes
Managing communication and collaboration among cross-functional stakeholders such as IT and Finance teams
Support Fortum finance with process explanation / training where needed
Identify and understand requirements and gaps in solutions and effectively conducts change management.

Our requirements

Suitable degree or equivalent competencies in e.g. accounting or technology, and preferably 5 years of working experience in a relevant field (e.g. consulting, accounting or process development).

Proven track record with revenue recognition / project accounting processes preferably in a large-scale, global organization

Deep understanding of project accounting and revenue recognition policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance and consistency, IFRS knowledge is needed

Capabilities to work independently and in a matrix organization

Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Continuous improvement mindset where you seek best practices

Good communication skills and ability to collaborate efficiently across teams and stakeholders

Fluent written and spoken English, competence in other languages is an advantage.

Good technical capabilities working with SAP (experience with Sales and Distribution and Project System modules are a plus)

Proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel

Experience in ERP implementation and transformation

We are looking for a Revenue Recognition / Project Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME), Record-to-Report (R2R) to join Fortum’s Finance Development in Group Finance. You will be responsible for leading the development of the project accounting and revenue recognition processes. You will have a key role in implementing accounting processes and tools as part of EPR renewal project during the coming years. You possess deep expertise leading the accurate application of revenue recognition principles, ensuring proper treatment of contract revenue, performance obligations, and ;eading project setup with milestones. In collaboration with the business and function stakeholders, you will be a key person to drive project accounting and revenue recognition related actions forward.

In this role, you will work very closely with different Fortum finance teams across the company. You will be part of Finance Development team and contributing to Record-to-report area roadmap, annual plans and KPIs. We are looking for a new team member in Gdansk, but we work flexibly in a hybrid model that adapts to both your professional and personal needs.

The position includes some travelling.
