A Snapshot of Your Day
The Development Project Manager drives and leads new product, service, and continuous improvement related projects within the Engineering & Product Management branch of the Compression Business. This includes managing the scope, budget, and schedule, ensuring new developments are launched on-time and on-budget, maintaining Siemens Energy’s competitive position. The role involves actively collaborating with global teams including; technical teams, portfolio managers, supply chain, sales and marketing, engineering, senior management, and other partners.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Engage partners to identify project scope and communicate requirements to project teams. Initiate the project in agreement with the Product & Portfolio Managers concerning the project targets and overall boundaries.
- Collaborate with Technical Leads and Resource Owners to create project plans and lead the project in line with the appropriate development process within the defined requirements.
- Implement projects within the approved boundaries ( requirements specification, functionality, product target costs, project cost, time, quality, customer satisfaction) and coordinate multiple functions including engineering, business controlling, quality, supply chain, manufacturing and other interfaces as the need arises.
- Ensure business success and customer satisfaction through professional partners management, identifying Project KPI’s, and effectively handling communication to report project status and forecast, while acting as the single point of contact for stakeholders queries.
- Represent the project in all review meetings, negotiate resource requirements & project priority, and act as an entrepreneur throughout project execution by being proactive in finding opportunities or hurdles, and ensure timely decisions of open issues, bringing up when vital.
- Balance the project scope through Organizational Change and handle risk by devising and planning suitable strategies for risk mitigation.
- Coach, lead, and motivate the team, even when faced with unexpected challenges, while recognizing and congratulating strong performances by the team, or taking action upon seeing areas for improvement.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in engineering. A Master’s degree is a plus.Strong leadership skills, highly motivated, and a passion for continuous improvement.Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in a dynamic environment.Experience and proficiency with project management software ( MS Project & Jira).Experience and knowledge of Lean and Agile methodologies.Strong communication, presentation, and social skills.Strengths and experience in developing, monitoring, and controlling project plans in an R&D or engineering environment.Knowledge of turbomachinery products, technology, and product development practices.Fluent in English (German language is nice to have).
