Responsibilities
- Contribute to International Trade Compliance strategies and provide guidance and strategic support to managers, internal and external business stakeholders, helping to reduce risk and exposure from compliance violations in importing and exporting activities across EMEA.
- Product classification with commodity codes, including tariff engineering.
- Analysis of International Trade Compliance regulations and implementation of plans or action steps as necessary, in liaison with other business functions (R&D, QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, Import, and Customer Services, etc.).
- Management and delivery of import and export audits, including definition and deployment of mitigation actions to corresponding business areas (Import team, Customer Service team, Intercompany Supply Chain team, etc.).
- Analysis of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Compliance (Food Law) regulations and implementation of plans or action steps as necessary, in liaison with other business functions (R&D, QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Finance, Import, and Customer Services, etc.).
- Management of import / export sanitary requirements, including any prerequisites to facilitate the trade process of products under sanitary scope, with detailed document advisory (increased document and registration requirements).
- Cross-border issue resolution to ensure that any exposure to financial or legal risk is considered as part of the international trade of sanitary / phytosanitary products.
- Foreign Trade / Sanitary Framework – implementation and facilitation of change processes for key business areas within foreign trade / trade regulatory scope.
Required qualifications
Degree in International Trade, International Business, Technical Major, Logistics, Food Science, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or a related field.Strong background in International Trade, Import / Export activities, and / or Regulatory Compliance, QA, or a related field.Proven experience working with ERP, SAP, or similar information systems.Fluent English language skills. Knowledge of French is an advantage but not mandatory.Ability to implement relevant processes and influence others to ensure understanding and compliance.Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct analyses and interpret diverse information.Good verbal and written communication skills – able to communicate effectively up, down, and across the organization.Strong team player, able to work collaboratively.Proactive and challenging personality.Organizational skills – able to prioritize workload and remain adaptable, demonstrated through examples of assignments and deliverables.Good numerical skills – able to break down data and analyze it, and calculate the effect of changes.Thoroughness and attention to detail.PC literate – experience with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, all at an intermediate level.McCormick is an EOE / Veterans / Disabled / LGBT employer.
