Job description

Responsibilities :

  • Deploy, configure, and support a large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure in data centers, Points of Presence (POP), edge, backbone, datacenter, and content delivery network (CDN) environments.
  • Provide onsite network support and expertise at local data center campuses and remote support for POP sites, collaborating with local vendor support staff.
  • Schedule and perform network maintenance, repairs, and upgrades while minimizing impact on the production network.
  • Calculate and document equipment power requirements; coordinate with Engineering, Facilities Operations, and / or colocation vendors to meet these needs.
  • Collaborate closely with Network Engineering, Logistics, and equipment vendors to integrate new equipment and technologies into the production network.
  • Work with network provisioning engineers to activate new circuits and escalate issues with vendors for troubleshooting faulty or out-of-service circuits.
  • Manage task and incident queues; participate in ongoing DC / POP deployment projects.
  • Use internal tools and scripts to configure, monitor, and repair servers and network equipment.
  • Develop internal documentation and conduct training sessions as needed.
  • Proactively contribute to evolving documentation, automation, and processes.
  • Follow, improve, and implement best practices for data centers and POPs.

Job Requirements :

  • CCNP / JNCIP certification preferred.
  • Experience with new POP or data center builds.
  • Understanding of outside plant construction requirements; fiber, copper, or coax experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies.
  • Rack and stack experience; installation of new racks and devices.
  • Experience with device installation and testing, software / firmware upgrades, re-bootstrapping, and decommissioning.
  • Experience in network optimization (re-stripes, migrations, upgrades, swaps, capacity upgrades).
  • Knowledge of DCN and experience with DCN installation, migrations, and upgrades.
  • Experience in break / fix support.
  • Familiarity with Juniper, Ciena, Infinera, Cisco, Arista, and ZPE systems (Network Deployment).
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience maintaining documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and apply troubleshooting skills, tools, and creative problem-solving under pressure.
  • Programming and scripting skills are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a global team within a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
