Job descriptionOur PHP developers contribute to improvements, new features and maintenance of our Symfony 4 / 5 based web applications. Working as a member of our agile development team, new features are written using Object Oriented (OO) PHP / TypeScript, MySQL, HTML5 and JavaScript in an environment that encourages learning and the advancement of your technical skills as a developer. Build and maintain Wren’s custom built, cutting edge applications (Symfony 4 / 5 based) Write clean code that is clear and understandable by others Contribute to project estimation Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle Work with senior developers, business stakeholders and wider development team to understand the initial scope for a new project At least 2 years’ experience in creating and maintaining object oriented PHP7 or PHP8 based systems An understanding of the MVC approach to development A working knowledge of the Symfony (or equivalent) framework A working knowledge of the Doctrine ORM Experience in creating and maintaining RESTFul APIs Experience of working with MySQL (We use v8 currently) Demonstrable knowledge of web technologies including JavaScript, Ajax, TypeScript, React, React Native Experience of using version control systems (such as Git) as part of a team A passion for adhering to coding standards and clean code Experience of working with MuleSoft or similar Experience of automated testing (e.g. Playwright, PHPUnit) Knowledge of design patterns, with practical experience of implementing them Experience of working in a continuous integration environment Has previously worked for a retailer / understands retail process Stable employment.
