The Hapag-Lloyd "Freight Information System" - FIS is the backbone of our shipping business and represents the benchmark in our industry. The global structure of transport logistics and time critical process flows comes with challenging requirements. FIS is continuously further developed by >
750 internal and external developers and is currently in transition shift from on-prem to cloud. Come on board and drive the fit-for-purpose holistic architecture during and beyond this transformation.
As a
"FIS Architect"
, you design and facilitate the target architecture and architectural migration path of Hapag-Lloyds core Freight Information System (FIS) from a major monolithic solution towards decoupled self-contained systems. Being part of the FIS EA team, you support multiple developer teams in following that path, identifying bounded contexts, conceptualizing evolutionary migration steps, and proactive driving architectural issues. You care for an effective integration architecture, a holistic view and profound stable communication mechanisms. You are responsible for defining, evolving, and governing the FIS architecture to be followed by >
750 FIS developers and >
60 FIS teams and thus act rather on an enterprise architecture level but with deep solution architecture impact.
Having an ear on the developer teams concerns during the transformation journey, you pro-actively take up needs for decisions, evaluate and prototype solution options, and drive implementation of decisions into the organization.
Your profound expertise includes both, technical experience to drive the right architectural decisions (considering also cost impact, complexity, and performance impact), as well as a clear appetite for sharing and advocating knowledge as well as advertising and aligning the target architecture to key stakeholders.
Thus, the FIS Architect is an all-rounder, who enjoys both, working with the platform team to provide the technological basis, the transformation program office, as well as with multiple developer teams. Therefore, you work simultaneously in multiple projects and foster the connection and architectural knowledge exchange within the organization.
