Director, Capital Equipment & Vascular Business – Eastern Europe (Based in Poland)
The Director of Capital Equipment & Vascular Business for Poland is a critical leadership role responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational execution of the company's Capital Equipment and Vascular device portfolio within the Polish and other Eastern European markets. The role requires a visionary leader capable of driving significant revenue growth, managing comprehensive P&L responsibilities, and overseeing both direct sales teams and distribution partners to achieve ambitious business objectives. The Director will be accountable for market penetration, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring the business operates with integrity and compliance with all local and global regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- P&L Ownership : Take full ownership of the Polish (and other Eastern European) Capital Equipment and Vascular P&L, including developing, managing, and delivering against revenue, margin, and expense targets.
- Market Strategy : Define and execute a robust, multi‑year commercial strategy for both the Capital Equipment and Vascular business lines, aligning local activities with global corporate goals.
- Business Development : Identify and pursue new business opportunities, key partnerships, and market segments to expand the company’s footprint and market share in Poland and other EE countries.
Commercial Operations & Distribution Management
Distribution Network : Oversee and manage the network of third‑party distributors for the Vascular and Capital Equipment businesses, ensuring strong performance, compliance, and strategic alignment.Sales Execution : Drive high‑performing sales strategies for the direct and indirect sales channels, focusing on complex capital sales cycles and high‑value vascular device placements.Tender & Key Account Management : Lead the organization’s approach to major public and private tenders and establish deep, strategic relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs), major hospital groups, and procurement bodies.Leadership & Team Development
Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑caliber commercial and operational team in Poland, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.Cross‑Functional Collaboration : Serve as the primary liaison with global and regional marketing, clinical, regulatory, and finance teams to ensure Poland’s and other EE needs are met and best practices are implemented.Required Experience & Qualifications
Senior Leadership Experience : Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in senior management or Director‑level roles within the medical device or healthcare industry.Capital Equipment Expertise : Proven, in‑depth experience managing the sales, strategy, and life‑cycle of complex capital equipment used in clinical settings.Vascular Market Knowledge : Demonstrated experience and strong understanding of the Vascular medical device market (e.g., interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular, or endovascular surgery).Distribution Management : Extensive experience in managing, developing, and optimizing third‑party distribution channels in the Polish or a comparable market.Financial Acumen : Direct experience with P&L responsibility and a track record of driving profitable growth and effective budget management.Education : Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is highly preferred.Language : Fluency in both Polish and English is mandatory.Travel : Willingness and ability to travel frequently (domestically within Poland and internationally) as required to meet business objectives and engage with stakeholders (up to 50%).Seniority Level
