Consolidation and Reporting Manager (Dentons Business Services EMEA)

Your responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end group consolidation process for the Europe region.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in compliance with deadlines.
  • Manage the submission and validation of consolidated data packages from all group entities.
  • Review and control financial reports from various offices to maintain consistency and integrity.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for local financial managers, providing guidance and resolving issues.
  • Train and mentor financial managers on reporting tools, consolidation policies, and updates in accounting standards.
  • Collaborate closely with external auditors to facilitate audits and address any queries.
  • Ensure strict adherence to the group’s accounting framework, currently UK GAAP, and relevant IFRS standards.
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve consolidation guidelines and reporting procedures.

Our requirements

  • Ability to identify and recommend improvements across all consolidation processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Able to actively participate in team discussions to share expertise, foster knowledge transfer, and support colleagues’ development.
  • Posses advanced technical knowledge of UK GAAP / IFRS to provide valuable insights and solutions for the group.
  • Ability to continuously expand sector-specific expertise and implement best market practices within the group’s consolidation framework.
  • University degree.
  • 7+ years working experience at a BIG 4 or similar.
  • Proven experience with group consolidation processes and collaborating within a consolidation team.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Flexible and proactive, taking ownership of tasks and engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure completion.
  • Experience working closely with external financial auditors.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English; proficiency in an additional European language is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, with particular expertise in Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

  • Partially or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional certification).
  • Experience in a professional services firm or corporate business environment is a distinct advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with Wolters Kluwer Tagetik consolidation module.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a matrix organizational structure.

    The Consolidation and Reporting Manager plays a crucial role within the consolidation team, overseeing the day-to-day activities of group consolidation for the Europe region. This role involves managing the full consolidation process for 44 group entities and preparing five distinct financial statement reports. As the firm’s expert in UK GAAP, IFRS, and audit-related matters, the manager provides essential guidance on these topics. Strong communication skills are vital, as the manager collaborates closely with key internal stakeholders and external auditors. The Consolidation and Reporting Manager reports directly to the Head of Consolidation and Audit.
