Job descriptionAt least 6 years of professional experience in a similar role, preferably in RPG / Action titles with melee-oriented combat. Proven success in creating compelling and innovative gameplay mechanics. Understanding of programming / scripting in AI design and experience with game editors and game design tools. Experience in working with Unreal Engine 4 and / or Unreal Engine 5. Openness to receiving and giving feedback about your work. Ability to include others in the design process. Mentoring experience. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-disciplinary teams and openness for changes & experimentation. Passion for games and a good sense of humor is appreciated. Hybrid : working from our Warsaw studio. Remote : working remotely from a location with a maximum + / - 3h time difference to Warsaw time zone. Overview
CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Gameplay Designer (AI) to join our team and help us develop a new game in the Witcher Saga. You will play a crucial role in developing AI behaviors for NPCs and enemies to provide engaging, fun, and challenging encounters and interactions. You will also act as a mentor and expert resource in all AI-related matters.
Daily Responsibilities
- Design and implementation of AI subsystems.
- Collaborate with designers, programmers and other project stakeholders to develop and refine mechanics that enhance player immersion and satisfaction.
- Design and prototype unique enemy, NPC and character companion behaviors, reactions, abilities and weaknesses for humans and monsters.
- Iterate on AI behavior through playtesting and feedback to create engaging and dynamic experiences.
- Create clear and detailed documentation for AI subsystems.
- Act as a subject matter expert, mentoring the team.
