Mission of the System Engineer

In this role, you'll be at the heart of our mission, working hand‑in‑hand with our team to deploy and operate cutting‑edge ICEYE and third‑party applications with customer satellites. You'll play a crucial part in planning and implementing system deliveries, gaining a deep understanding of how our satellite and ground systems work together. ICEYE delivers space‑based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities to governments and allied nations. We provide sovereign and turnkey ISR missions leveraging ICEYE's world‑leading synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, as well as data from the world's largest SAR satellite constellation. Expected Outcomes
Successful ground system deployment and operation : Assemble, configure, and install ground systems correctly and efficiently at customer sites, ensuring reliable processing of satellite data into images.Effective customer technical interaction : Clearly explain technical concepts and collaborate with customer technical staff, internal stakeholders, and partners to foster strong relationships and ensure smooth integration.Adherence to technical standards and qualifications : Demonstrate strong technical expertise in Dell VxRail, VMWare, Kubernetes, and hold relevant certifications.Adaptability and operational readiness : Thrive in a dynamic environment, adapt to changing timelines, participate in an on‑call rotation after onboarding, and travel to customer sites as needed.Continuous improvement : Drive the improvement of assembly, integration, and on‑site installation processes, identifying bottlenecks, proposing enhancements, and fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.Requirements
Role‑specific competences
Hands‑on experience with on‑premises hardware (servers, storage, switches, firewalls, cabling), VMWare virtualization, and Kubernetes.Expertise in networking troubleshooting and Linux system administration in production, with proficiency in logging and monitoring solutions.A mindset focused on "Infrastructure as Code" (or willingness to learn) and a strong emphasis on security.Experience with orchestration tools such as Hashicorp Terraform and storage arrays administration.Key competences
