Overview
The Developer is responsible for the overall performance of the product through applying principles of software engineering to the design development maintenance testing and evaluation of the software. The Developer ensures timely delivery of high quality software within the release timelines and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Develop complex code based on functional specifications across teams and programs; complete logic and algorithm design in alignment with established standards
- Maintain and improve codebase, data design, and best practices, including (but not limited to) performance, security, reliability, and deliverability and quality attributes
- Understand and contribute to the architecture of the software; create initial implementation standards and guidelines for projects that allow teams or programs to begin implementing them based on the technical specifications
- Perform complex peer code review and analysis; provide insight on broader impact of software changes
- Operate as an innovative thought leader and trusted advisor across teams and programs; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing, influence of architectural design, and coaching on current best practices and market trends
- Identify and articulate the business value and broader impact of software changes to internal and external stakeholders; contribute to the prioritization
- Design, contribute to, and lead the implementation of delivery pipeline, including test automation, security, and performance
- Create development standards to ensure compliance with product and industry practices and regulations
- Author, review, and approve technical requirements and design documents
- Mentor, coach, train, and provide feedback to other team members; provides feedback to leadership on technical abilities of team
- Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert for the most complex production issues or software code issues to ensure the stability of the application and resolution of issues
- Operate as an innovative thought leader; contribute significantly to the overall growth and quality of the department through knowledge sharing and coaching on current best practices and market trends
Basic Qualifications
Proven experience designing and operating Internal Developer Platforms (IDP), including integrations with external apps, and large-scale Developer Experience initiatives.Strong understanding of platform engineering patterns , including service catalogs, golden paths, self-service provisioning, scaffolding, and standardized templatesHands-on experience with developer portals / platform orchestration tools (. Backstage, Compass, Port, Humanitec, or equivalent), with a tool-agnostic mindsetSolid experience with cloud providers (preferably AWS, but not mandatory) and cloud-native architecturesStrong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)Advanced experience with containers and orchestration , particularly Docker and Kubernetes (cluster lifecycle, RBAC, multi-tenancy)Experience designing and operating scalable CI / CD pipelines , including GitOps and automated delivery practicesStrong software engineering background , with hands-on experience in at least one of the following languages : Javascript or TypeScript, Python, JavaAbility to design and maintain internal APIs and tooling , such as CLIs, automation services, and system integrationsGood understanding of observability and reliability principles , including logging, metrics, tracing, and SLI / SLO conceptsFamiliarity with platform-level security concepts , including IAM / RBAC, secret management, and policy-as-codeExperience supporting multiple development teams through shared platforms, standards, and scalable technical solutionsExcellent oral and written communications skills that demonstrate a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with executive presenceExcellent collaboration skills, applied successfully within team as well as with all levels of employees in other areasExcellent critical thinking and problem solving skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion independentlyAbility to work independently and in a team environmentExcellent attention to detailDriven to learn and stay current professionallyPassionate, competitive and intellectually curiousSharp, fast learner with technology curiosity and aptitudeDemonstrated ability to influence, motivate and mobilize team members, business partners, and program leadershipStrong ability to establish rapport and gain the trust of others; effective at gaining consensusExcellent at developing and using original thinking to translate goals into the implementation of new ideas and design solutionsDemonstrated ability to provide technical and constructive feedback to team membersDemonstrated leadership in mentoring small teams in the process of conceptualizing, designing, implementing and shipping quality deliverablesAbility to provide guidance and support to developing team membersUp to 10% travel time required
