Job description

We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to oversee a Linux platform consisting of approximately 40,000 servers in a banking production environment. Responsibilities include incident management, day-to-day planning, and implementing changes. Automation of routine tasks is crucial due to the large number of assets.

Additionally, addressing vulnerabilities, proactive improvements, and participation in transformation projects are integral to this role.

Your role

  • Installing and configuring Red Hat software products and servers
  • Designing and implementing solutions using Git and Veritas Cluster & Volume Manager
  • Managing SAN and NAS
  • Maintaining server software configuration and system components lifecycle management
  • Leveraging automation platforms like Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (or similar skills like Puppet) for script development and maintenance
  • Monitoring infrastructure using various tools
  • Resolving tickets through incidents, problems, and client requests
  • Collaborating with support, operations, and engineering teams to troubleshoot problems
  • Providing training to colleagues and advising project teams on capacity management
  • Participating in on-call and shift work

Your skills

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in Linux administration
  • Experience with Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, and Solaris, focusing on high-availability environments
  • Background in SAN and NAS management
  • Proficiency in technologies such as Puppet, Ansible, Git, Veritas Cluster & Volume Manager, Python, and OpenSVC
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodologies and some Cloud experience is advantageous
  • Eagerness to learn and analytical skills
  • Experience delivering strategic priorities within deadlines in a production environment
  • Willingness to work from the office one day per week
