Position Overview

As the Senior Backend Engineer (AI), you will play a pivotal role in building scalable, fast and highly available API powering our proptech AI agentic system from the ground up. You are expected to take ownership of the key features from backend perspective, utilising your extensive knowledge of Python as well as your experience with generative AI and agentic systems.

This position is fully remote , though it requires periodic (e.g., quarterly) travel to London, alongside offsites in Poland. Ideal candidates will be proactive and eager to embrace challenges, possessing the autonomy to significantly influence product direction and oversee projects from inception through to launch.

Requirements

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in backend development, with expert-level proficiency in REST API development using Python, FastAPI, and Postgresql (or other relational databases).
• Experience in building and (preferably) productionizing agentic systems based on LLMs
• Experience and proficiency in developing cloud infrastructure, ideally on AWS.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (Git), CI / CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment where rapid prototyping and iterative development are paramount.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead projects and interface directly with senior management.
• Fluent English with a minimum of B2+ level, enabling effective communication in a professional setting.
• The ability to navigate and develop in the AWS ecosystem is a strong plus.
• Experience with React and other frontend technologies is a plus.
