We are currently looking for a dynamic individual as an

Accounting Business Process Owner

for EMEA region. The Accounting Business Process Owner will lead the governance, optimization, and continuous improvement of accounting operations across the EAME region. This role ensures that processes are efficient, compliant with SOX and internal audit standards, and delivers value aligned with strategic business objectives.

Role Responsibilities

As an Accounting Business Process Owner, you will be responsible for :

Process Ownership & Governance

  • Define and maintain accounting process documentation, including workflows, controls, and KPIs.
  • Build and update the accounting service catalogue and ensure knowledge assets are current.
  • Ensure SOX and audit compliance across all accounting processes.
  • Act as key contact for internal and external audits, including control reviews and remediation.
  • Implement governance frameworks aligned with global standards and support training initiatives.

Optimization, Automation, Technology & Systems

  • Lead process optimization and automation efforts across accounting operations.
  • Partner with IT and data teams to deploy automation scripts and digital workflows.
  • Serve as global support contact for SAP, Concur, IBM PA, and related tools.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and ensure systems reflect accurate process needs.
  • Validate system outputs and promote effective use of automation tools.
  • Performance Monitoring

  • Track process performance using dashboards and analytics tools.
  • Provide accounting data for leadership reporting and maintain reporting platforms.
  • Establish and maintain accounting dashboards.
  • Address process deviations and lead corrective actions.
  • Conduct reviews to identify and propose process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with regional teams (Kraków, Rotterdam, Kuala Lumpur) to ensure process consistency.
  • Align priorities with the R2R Global Process Owner and share best practices.
  • Work with Divisional BPOs and functional leaders to support process alignment and improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement

  • Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance user experience.
  • Identify automation opportunities and work with analytics and IT teams on implementation.
  • Promote a culture of innovation through coaching and knowledge sharing.
  • Experience And Competencies

    What we are looking for :

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Record-to-Report (R2R) processes ideally in an international environment, preferably shared services operations.
  • Experience with SOX compliance, internal audit, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent knowledge of English language.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Power BI and Excel is required.
  • Experience with PowerApps, Power Automate, Concur and IBM PA is a benefit.
  • Experience in project management or leading cross-functional initiatives is a strong advantage.
  • Ability to take ownership of the end-to-end accounting processes, governance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the EAME region.
  • Confidence in working with diverse stakeholders across finance, IT, and audit.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into effective process solutions
