Role Purpose
Design, develop, and industrialize Optical Fiber manufacturing platforms (process + equipment) to significantly lower costs or enable new, advanced products. Apply engineering principles and the scientific method to identify and solve key limitations in manufacturing processes through targeted experiments. Collaborate with a global team to advance, deploy, and enhance innovation projects and selected manufacturing platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and industrialize optical fiber manufacturing platforms (process + equipment)
- Solve safety, performance, quality, and cost issues in manufacturing
- Participate in global, cross‑functional teams from concept to early manufacturing
- Provide engineering support for development platforms
- Apply scientific method and engineering principles to drive fundamental understanding
- Design, plan, and execute experiments in lab and manufacturing environments
- Analyze and present data to support conclusions and recommendations
- Document, train, and transfer projects to Plant Operations and Engineering
Requirements
BS or MS in Chemical, Mechanical, Physics, or Materials Engineering2–5 years of engineering experienceWorking knowledge of electro‑mechanical systems, material properties, and physical phenomenaStrong data analysis and statistical skillsHands‑on approach and bias for actionProficiency in both English and Polish (spoken and written)Desired
Knowledge of fiber optics and materialsExperience with optical fiber draw processes and platformsExperience with data processing software (e.g., Jump, Python, PowerBI) and modeling / simulation software (e.g., Aspen, Matlab, Fluent)Travel Requirements
5% domestic and international.
