Position Overview
The Senior Business Controller will act as a strategic finance partner, providing actionable insights through planning, analysis, and performance monitoring. This is a critical role in helping the business achieve its financial targets and support regional coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate strategic business objectives into measurable financial and operational KPIs, and track their performance over time.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and economic indicators to proactively adjust financial forecasts.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including profit & loss analysis, cost breakdowns, and margin development for management review.
- Lead the annual budget process, coordinating inputs from various departments, validating assumptions, and ensuring alignment with group-level expectations.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis (actuals vs. budget / forecast), identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
- Support commercial and operational teams with scenario modelling to evaluate pricing strategies, investment proposals, or cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal control policies and financial reporting standards (IFRS and local GAAP).
- Serve as a point of contact for auditors and internal finance reviews, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of required documentation.
- Work closely with the Finance Director and local leadership to monitor KPIs and deliver performance insights that support strategic decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in planning and reporting tools, suggesting enhancements and supporting their implementation.
- Collaborate with regional teams to consolidate data and ensure consistency across countries for group-level reporting.
- Support provision planning and month-end closing activities by aligning closely with the accounting department.
- Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in financial workflows and recommend process improvements or digital solutions.
- Foster cross-functional cooperation in analysis, controlling, planning, and budgeting
Your Profile
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in business controlling or analysisDegree in Finance, Accounting, or related fieldSolid knowledge of IFRS and Polish GAAPAdvanced user of ERP, planning / reporting tools, and MS OfficeExperience with BI systems and SQL is advantageousStrategic and structured thinking with strong business acumenDemonstrated ability to thrive in fast-changing, high-pressure environments, maintaining clear focus and sound judgment under stress.Comfortable working with fragmented data and ambiguityFluency in Polish and professional proficiency in EnglishStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAction-oriented, and confident in challenging ideas or proposing improvementsPrevious experience in mentoring others or leading a smaller team is an advantageWhy Consider This Opportunity?
