Due to intensive growth, GlobalLogic Automotive department is glad to invite a Senior System Test Engineer to an Automotive project. The project aims to optimize and extend the Automotive Solution with new features. Our clients are Tier 1s and OEMs from Europe and the USA, and the development is targeted to new European cars. The project is considered a technical excellence initiative, and we pay huge attention to technical challenge motivation and excellence compensation. At our project we build a computer‑in‑the‑car architecture – key for enabling innovation within areas such as advanced connectivity, machine learning, and autonomous drive.

Requirements

Proven experience as a System Tester or Validation Engineer in the Automotive domain.

Strong knowledge of Black Box testing methodologies and their application in ECU / Vehicle function testing.

Expertise in test automation scripting with Python.

Mandatory hands‑on experience with the Vector tool stack (CANoe, CANalyzer) and the CAPL scripting language.

Experience with HIL / SIL / VIL testing concepts and environments.

Deep understanding of in‑vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, DoIP, Automotive Ethernet) and UDS diagnostics.

(ONLY FOR VIL TESTERS) Possession of a valid driving license (Category B or relevant) and the practical ability to safely operate test vehicles for validation purposes.

Knowledge of automotive quality and safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262, ASPICE).

Job Responsibilities

LOCATION : KRAKOW

The Automotive System Test Engineer will be responsible for validating vehicle functions and Electronic Control Units (ECUs) using Black Box testing, spanning from laboratory environments (HIL / SIL) to dynamic testing environments (VIL – Vehicle‑in‑the‑Loop and possibly public roads / test tracks). This role is critical for ensuring that the fully integrated system meets safety and performance requirements, including human‑machine interaction. The role involves automation development using Python and CAPL within the Vector toolchain and requires the practical ability to operate test vehicles.

Test Planning & Design : Analyze Automotive Software Requirements to create detailed Black Box test plans and test cases for both lab and vehicle environments.

Automation (HIL / VIL / SIL) : Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Python (for test orchestration and data analysis) and CAPL (for real‑time bus stimulation and diagnostics) within the Vector tool stack (CANoe, CANalyzer).

VIL and Dynamic Testing : Configure and execute Vehicle‑in‑the‑Loop (VIL) tests, integrating a real vehicle on a test bench or track with a simulated environment (e.g., virtual traffic, sensor inputs).

Test Driving & Vehicle Validation : Perform functional vehicle tests on test tracks or public roads. This includes driving the vehicle to validate system behavior, human‑machine interface (HMI), and overall function performance under real‑world conditions.

Protocol & Diagnostics Testing : Design and execute tests for communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet) and diagnostic services (UDS – ISO 14229).

Issue Management : Document, analyze, and track software defects and anomalies, including log file analysis and trace interpretation from vehicle data recorders.
