About us :
A global group operating in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced
Finance Manager / Controller
to join their team in Poland.
This position will oversee all Polish entities and lead a small finance team to ensure effective management of financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Revenue, Payroll, VAT, and Tax. The role will also be responsible for monthly and quarterly reporting to the Group under both IFRS and Polish GAAP, as well as annual audits and statutory reporting to Polish authorities and other stakeholders.
Additionally, the Finance Manager / Controller will play a key role in supporting the growth and expansion of the Polish business, including financial review of future acquisitions and tax structuring.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the financial reporting of all Polish entities.
- Lead quarterly close and reporting processes, ensuring accurate results under Polish GAAP and IFRS within agreed timelines.
- Prepare and approve annual financial statements and tax submissions.
- Manage the audit process and ensure timely filing of all required reports, including bank and regulatory reporting.
- Appoint and coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
- Maintain and update the Polish accounting policy manual, addressing technical accounting issues and clarifying differences between IFRS and Polish GAAP.
- Configure and optimize the Group ERP system to support Polish reporting requirements.
- Manage all day-to-day financial operations, including Accounts Payable, Payroll / B2B contractor payments, Revenue, and VAT submissions.
- Oversee treasury and banking relationships in Poland.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to project finance lenders, including financial statements and covenant calculations.
- Partner closely with business teams to support growth initiatives.
- Ensure accurate accounting for new revenue streams, acquisitions, and other business developments.
Key Skills & Experience :
MUSTs :
5+ years of experience in a similar finance or controller role within a multinational company.Strong technical knowledge of Polish GAAP and IFRS.Proven experience preparing financial statements and managing audits.Deep understanding of Polish tax and legal requirements.Hands-on, proactive, and collaborative working style — capable of identifying and resolving issues across teams.Detail-oriented, with a willingness to investigate and resolve legacy accounting issues.Excellent communication skills and fluency in English (both written and spoken).Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse, international teams.Experience using and managing data within international accounting systems (ERP).
