About The Product
Cloud Unit is building an enterprise‑grade Infrastructure Operations Platform named VOPs to support facilitation of the most complex IT infrastructure operations for all IT teams at Bayer worldwide.
Your Responsibilities
- Planning and Design : Join the team responsible for planning and running our VOPs platform.
- Leadership : Mentor teams of engineers, providing guidance and support in the implementation of cloud solutions.
- Advise VOPs Product Owner on technical aspects, new trends and platform development strategy.
- Collaboration with Stakeholders : Work closely with Squad Leads, Lead Cloud Engineers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and align integration strategies with business goals.
- Architecture : Ensure that solutions are built as modular components for VOPs that integrate seamlessly with Bayer’s IT and business systems. Guide and moderate teams to ensure economic implementation.
- Technical Oversight : Ensure that solutions are scalable, reliable, maintainable and secure, adhering to best practices in IT architecture and in line with Bayer’s strategy.
- Documentation and Standards : Create, maintain, and review comprehensive documentation for processes, standards, and best practices.
- Intercultural Communication : Foster an environment of open communication and collaboration among diverse teams across different geographical locations.
Our Requirements
Educational Background : Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent practical experience as an IT engineer.At least 6 years of experience in Azure (other clouds will be a plus).Proficiency in IT Architecture & design, specifically in infrastructure automation, provisioning and maintenance.Problem‑Solving Skills : Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively, even under pressure. Ability to apply actions for continuous improvement.Familiarity with IaC (e.g. Terraform) and strong proficiency in Python.Linux command line tools and shell scripting.Compliance Regulations : Experience with building IT systems in regulated environments.Integration and Automation Expertise : Knowledge of CI / CD processes and experience in building and deploying integration solutions (Azure DevOps, GitHub Repos, and GitHub Actions).Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.Experience with API management and / or design will be appreciated.Intercultural Competence : Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within multicultural environments by respecting diverse perspectives and promoting cohesive teamwork. Skilled in establishing and maintaining a robust professional network.Language Proficiency : Fluent in English, both spoken and written.What Do We Offer
