Job Overview

Responsible for development and commercial aspects of the portfolio in Poland, including regulatory issues, origination, and project execution to acquire, divest, swap, or merge equity in assets or companies. This includes negotiation of transactions, asset and extended term agreements.

Utilise knowledge across multiple areas to solve highly complex tasks with medium to long‑term strategic impact / risk. Set direction and execute strategies for the business / corporate unit, aligned with Equinor’s short and long‑term goals.

Manage assets, financial and human resources, and be responsible for a significant proportion of profit and loss or forecasted spend. Shape and execute on the competence development strategy. Lead mid to large‑sized projects.

Provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders regarding execution in your area. Manage conflicting agendas, lead negotiations, and facilitate decision‑making processes. Lead execution of improvement agendas across multiple areas and enable other senior colleagues to deliver complex change initiatives.

Coach and support leaders to embrace change and motivate teams. Follow and comply with safety, ethics, and compliance requirements and align with leadership expectations and company values.

Key Tasks

  • Act in accordance with our ‘shape, empower and deliver’ leadership expectations.
  • Have a formal employer role responsibility on behalf of Equinor, including regular follow‑up of people development, performance evaluation and compliance with working environment requirements.
  • Prepare and facilitate joint‑venture meetings to ensure alignment; optimise commercial aspects of the portfolio and maintain updated portfolio documentation.
  • Foster collaboration and partnership with key stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
  • Responsible for planning and executing tasks including risk follow‑up.
  • Manage a team of professionals responsible for building and maintaining external relationships, regulatory affairs and collecting intelligence.
  • Oversee the collection and distribution of strategic intelligence on market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes on the Polish market.
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify opportunities and assess risks in the industry.
  • Provide guidance and support in delivering comprehensive business development valuation and securing risk management.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to prioritise and execute business development efforts across the portfolio.
  • Foster the development and promotion of best practices in business development, sharing insights and driving continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present strategic reports and presentations related to existing portfolio and business development activities to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering their professional growth and success.

What We Expect From You

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (required).
  • Extensive knowledge of the Polish energy market and key energy stakeholders.
  • 10+ years of experience in a relevant commercial environment, preferably within the energy or power sector.
  • Experience working in joint‑venture scenarios.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
  • Commercial mindset with willingness to be hands‑on and in the details of the role.
  • Fluent in Polish and English (written and spoken).
  • This is a local position on local terms and conditions.
