Job description

The Financial Controller plays a critical role in supporting both core financial operations of the business and commercial activities. This hybrid role combines broader finance responsibilities, including statutory compliance, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and internal controls together with operational order and revenue management. The position requires close coordination with cross-functional teams and ownership of accurate data in different systems.

As a finance generalist, the ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and proactive — able to independently investigate and resolve issues, manage deadlines related to statutory financial statements and audits, and ensure financial accuracy across processes.

Financial Operations & Oversight

  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
  • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and follow up on open items.
  • Maintain general ledger accounts and ensure postings align with financial policies and cost structures.
  • Support ad hoc financial projects, cost analysis, or data investigations to support decision-making.

Compliance & Statutory Reporting

  • Track and manage deadlines related to statutory financial statements, audits, and regulatory filings as well as preparing supporting documentation where needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts in line with local GAAP or IFRS (as applicable).
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and contribute to process documentation and improvement.
  • Commercial Support

  • Participate in different cross functional meetings to support the order-to-cash process (validate commercial contract and approvals, cash collection, sales order and invoice creation, customer acceptance).
  • Keep systems up to date to ensure proper reflection of the status of equipment deals.
  • Handle bank leasing and letter of credit processes including creation, review, amendments, and communication with relevant stakeholders in complex international commercial contracts.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in the order-to-cash process and accounting workflows.
  • Support budget and forecast cycles with deal-level financial data and insights.
  • Facilitate and follow-up on customer leasing projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in accounting, controlling, or financial operations, ideally with exposure to sales processes.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills with the confidence to engage with senior commercial stakeholders and push back respectfully when needed.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance processes.
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or equivalent).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Hands-on and proactive — eager to investigate, analyze, and solve issues independently.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities, meeting strict deadlines and have a strong sense of urgency.
  • Preferred :

  • Familiarity with banking instruments (e.g., letters of credit, leasing).
  • Prior experience in industrial or capital goods industries.
  • Experience with statutory reporting in international or multi-entity environments.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and regulatory reporting cycles.
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and / or local GAAP.
