Who are we?

StratsLab combines the top-level IT skills and deep financial knowledge to deliver innovative products and services. We are a Developers Driven Company. We have high programming skills and participate in exciting projects worldwide.

StratsLab was founded in 2015, by alumni of Warsaw University, Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Mechanics (MIM). For several years prior, we worked at top-tier investment banks and hedge funds in London.

At present our team is located in Warsaw and consists of 20 individuals. We execute projects for clients in the financial sector spanning across Poland, Germany, UK, USA, and Japan.

Your role

You will be working in international teams, serving customers from financial institutions (banks, funds, investment houses, etc.). You will participate in the implementation of risk management software : adjusting it to customers' requirements, and developing new functionalities & applications.

Technologies we work with

The backend is mainly in Python. There are also projects in C++, Go, Rust, and TypeScript.

You can expect to spend around 70%+ of your development time in Python and the rest across a subset of other mentioned languages according to your preferences.

We expect you to be able to be comfortable reading code in any language. We do not expect you to be an expert in all of them, but we do require you to be OK with doing a minor change from time to time in a tech stack you aren't using daily (don't worry, it will be reviewed before merging).

We are multi-cloud and are currently in production with AWS and Azure.

Development environment

You configure your work environment yourself, and you have complete freedom in using the software that makes you happy and productive. The default is macOS, but we had a case of someone using Gentoo, so the sky is the limit. As for tooling, we use Git, Jira, Slack, GitLab CI / CD.

Our expectations

Advanced knowledge of software design, data structures and algorithms

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, openness to direct work with customers

Exposure to multiple programming languages and paradigms.

Familiarity with cloud computing such as AWS / Azure / GCP is a plus

Financial knowledge and / or experience in financial markets will be an advantage

Very good command of English
